Department of Foundations of Education
The Department of Foundations of Education was established in 2019 as an independent academic unit within the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Psychology (EFP), following its separation from the Department of Educational Sciences. The department was founded with the primary goal of educating graduate students at both the master’s and PhD levels.
The department focuses on teaching and research in the philosophy of education, contemporary debates in this field, and the identification and examination of challenges within Iran’s education system. In addition to offering a Ph.D. program in the Philosophy of Education, the department also admits master’s students in Educational Research, preparing them to contribute to necessary reforms and advancements in the national education system and to conduct research on current educational issues. The department currently has active students and graduates at both the master's and doctoral levels.

- Engaging alumni to draw on their lived experiences in identifying educational and cultural challenges and contributing to the resolution of existing issues
- Organizing specialized seminars for doctoral students and faculty members
- Hosting national academic congresses
