In response to the ongoing crises in the Middle East, particularly in Gaza and Lebanon, the Foundations of Education Research Journal, guided by its academic mission, social responsibility, and commitment to human-centered strategies, invited distinguished scholars in the philosophy of education from leading universities around the world to reflect on a pressing question: What is the role of educational philosophers in today’s turbulent world? Can they influence policymakers and contribute to establishing global peace, or should their efforts remain confined to the classroom?

The insights and responses from these renowned scholars have been compiled and published in this special issue on Peace Education.

This issue features eleven scholarly articles contributed by fifteen professors of the philosophy of education from countries including Iran, the United States, Germany, Poland, China, Hong Kong, Australia, Japan, and South Africa.

The special issue was curated and led by Prof Bakhtiar Shabani, Editor-in-Chief of the Foundations of Education Research Journal and faculty member at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad.
