Message of the Dean
Dear students and colleagues,
It is a great pleasure and a special honor to write you as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (FUM), which is indeed the engineering hub in eastern Iran.
This year coincides with the 50-year anniversary of the approval of the FUM Faculty of Engineering. A moment that inevitably prompts reflection on our journey, acknowledging and celebrating the remarkable achievements of our faculty. During this half century, seven departments have been stablished and developed including mechanical & aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, computer engineering, chemical & petroleum & polymer engineering, metallurgical & material engineering and industrial engineering. Right now, more than 5000 students, 400 of them are foreign, are studying in our faculty and during these years more than 20000 alumni have been introduced by the faculty to the industry.
Steered by our commitment to excellence and social responsibility, and to become a 4th generation university, we are opening the doors of the faculty by initiating a series of events addressed to diverse audiences. Currently, we are committed to initiatives that transfer our knowledge and expertise to address critical industrial needs and contribute to professional practice.

The Faculty of Engineering at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, established in 1975, has served as a vital hub for engineering education and innovation in eastern Iran. Over nearly five decades, the faculty has grown to encompass seven prominent departments: Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Chemical, Petroleum, and Polymer Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, and Industrial Engineering. These departments have collectively nurtured more than 20,000 graduates, many of whom have become influential leaders in academia, industry, and society. Currently, the faculty is home to over 170 distinguished faculty members and more than 5,000 exceptional students, united by a vision to position the faculty as a leader in the 4th-generation university model. With a mission to advance expertise, innovation, and technology, the faculty actively addresses the needs of society and industry through its dedicated human resources and an outward-focused, impact-driven approach, striving to bridge the gap between academia and real-world challenges.
